Well, this week started out with some more sickness…lucky me! I woke up Friday morning after the Riffle’s had gone home with a fever, sore throat, cough, stuffy nose…you know the general symptoms after you have spent a week with 7 people with different kinds of germs! I know where it came from as I spent my last night with them watching a movie with my little nephew, Andrew. He had a fever and so was not allowed to go out with the other kids…so he and I popped some popcorn, snuggled in my bed and watched Enchanted. So, when I woke up sick on Friday morning I was not too surprised!

Saturday, I went with the Paul’s to get Ruth’s brother and sister in law from the airport. You should have seen the excitement on their faces! I then headed out to meet with my youth for our discipleship study. We started with our normal worship time, just singing and reading HIS Words in a time of praise. But HE lead me to focus our time on pryng for each other and that is exactly what we did. We started by pryng for the members of our team who were not there, then shared specific requests and then one by one took those requests to HIM. It was a beautiful time at HIS Feet and the youth were motivated to make this a habit, you know pryng for each other! That afternoon, I tried to meet up with another M to help her with a group of young guys she has been working with in a nearby neighborhood. I did not find them and by this time was not feeling so great. Did I mention, that I woke up Saturday morning with a bite on my neck. I did not know what it was from, all I knew was that it was huge, red, hot, and hurt. I went back home and spent some sweet time with HIM and sleeping!

Sunday, I wake up feeling worse than I did the day before with two more bites and a big black spider lying next to me! I had a high, high fever and my body just hurt. To say that I was excited to have received these two new bites would be anything but the truth…why you ask? Well, first off…they are spider bites…Colombian spider bites. But mostly because one of my new nieces who had stayed with me for the week, Ashley, was going to be baptized and she had called me to ask me to come. What a privilege to share in this with her and my newly adopted family! What an honor to be called aunt to a young 6 year old who has more Biblical wisdom than someone twice her age! It was also her father’s birthday and I had made him a cake…his favorite. And finally, a group of women from a local club had asked me to come and teach them about the role of a woman that afternoon. It was a definite difficult morning for me to accept this illness that would keep me from experiencing all three of these blessings. HE reminded me of Who HE is and so I slept, had club in my bed, and rested in HIM…pryng for every activity that I would not be able to see with my own two eyes.

Monday, I am still not feeling well but had started another antibiotic to help fight the infections from the spider bites and whatever virus I had obtained from the Riffles. Once again, the fever robbed me of my energy and desire to do much of anything. At this point, I think Brody is ready to trade in his mom for a new, healthier model as we are not running or playing like we normally do!  That afternoon, I started reading the books that Ruth’s brother brought me for my class. And these are not just books, these are text books that are not the easiest read and now I feel behind in my class! So I spent the afternoon just studying and reading and trying to break my fever!

Tuesday, woke up with another high fever and more pain from the bites...but by the afternoon I was able to go out to see my little women in Centro. We chatted for awhile but they told me that I did not look good and should go back home, and so I took their advice and did just that.

Wednesday, All three of my girls came over for discipleship and we had an amazing time in HIS Word together. They are growing so much just in their love of HIM and for each other. I am so proud that they have truly allowed the HS to reveal a lot in their lives that they have thought for many years was just normal believer behavior and thoughts. HE is doing an incredible job in their lives through HIS Words and I cannot wait to see where HE takes them through their homework this week!

Thursday, I spent the day with D...just listening to her, pryng with her, discipling her, and studying the Word with her. She has a lot going on and not sure she was ready to accept the Truth HE gave me for her. We talked through several different aspects of the ministry in Palenque and what it would look like here in Cartagena. We talked through several things that HE had revealed to me through my study in Acts over HIS desire and plan for the Palenque people. HE has huge things planned for her and I know that in time she will be patient and accept HIS plan for her life right now. Please join me in pryr for her as she processes through several different Truths and how they impact her life.

Friday, I was able to go to the farm...FINALLY! And what a blessing it was for me! It was so great to see all the kids and love on the adults. HE gave me time with each of them individually to hear how they were really doing. There were about 40 young people at the farm for the day working with a group called Patmos. These young people pay money for 4 months of boot camp, believer style! It was neat to get to hear a couple of their stories as well and how HE is just wrecking their lives and revealing HIS Truths to them through this experience. They were able to help the guys on the farm so much...3 major projects done in one day! We even had the kids helping with one of the projects and wish I could have taken a picture of little Andrew and I carrying wood down to the bottom of the farm...it was the cutest thing...he was at least! We women have decided to study and pry together each week, which is a huge answer to a pryr of mine. I am excited to see what HE does as we seek HIM together, four women with four different backgrounds!

And Saturday, I had a great discipleship session with one of the youth and then the group of youth. They are really uniting in their love of HIM and desire to love HIM more! It is beautiful! And I went that afternoon to meet up with another M to help her with her group of young guys. This time, I actually made it and none of the guys came. It was neat to see how she does her work and just support her and love on her for awhile. That night, Eric came over after his Model UN responsibility that he has with his new job. It was nice to just sit and hear about his life...we really haven't spoken or seen each other in 2 months!

ANd now, I am sitting in the hotel lobby in Peru and about ready to head back into my room...or the sauna. I just arrived here for a week of training. My plane was later than my roommates and she is already asleep with the heat on...so I am out here trying to cool off, update you guys, pry, and get ready for bed. Please be in pry over this week that I am learning new things that will hopefully help with the work in Palenque.
