There is no one like Our Dad!

I don't know if you are like me and can look all around you and see nothing but...LOSTNESS! From where I live in my neighborhood of the wealthy to my work in the neighborhood of the poor, the same sufficating, darkness lurks. Everywhere I turn, I see people listening to the father of lies and ignoring what they were made for and WHO is daily pursuing them!

And as I think about having months left here in this city, I wonder what HE is going to here and how can I be His instrument in such a few months. As I am sitting here to right down my thoughts, you know what song my Itunes DJ plays..."God of This City." When was the last time you heard that song or have you ever? What an anthem for us, believers, to sing as we head out every day into a lost and dying world of billions!

In Isaiah I read where HE says: "Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please. From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that will I bring about; what I have planned, that will I do!" 46:9-11

So as I sing that there is no one like Our Dad! That greater things have yet to come and greater things are yet to be done in this city of Cartagena, HE confirms His purpose for me here. And though I feel like I am swimming in a sea of lostness, I will cry out to the God of this city and the King of these people! As I feel another blow from the enemy or see him attack/lie to one of HIS children, I will cling to the Light in this darkness and ask that HE shines through me. As I pry these small, beautiful kids off of me each and every weekend and hold back tears when I think of what they are returning home to when I leave, I drop to my knees and beg the HOPE of the hopeless that they will accept and follow HIM!

What an anthem...greater things are still to be done here! That which HE has said to me, he will bring about and that which HE has planned for this city, HE will do! All because we serve a Living Dad who does what HE pleases to bring HIM glory...and I get a front seat to this show each and every day!
