I have decided that I am not very good at this blog thing. For some reason I still get hung up on the idea that my words here need to be earth shaking, perfectly witty, and profound. Just to clarify, yes I am still an idiot for believing lies like this and allowing them to affect me sharing what He is teaching me with you! So continue to pry for me and my stupidity!!
So, a chapter that has just rocked my world the past 2 weeks would be numero 10 in the great book of Luke. If you have not read it in awhile, STOP what reading this...go get your Book...read it...and then come back! I will wait....
So he starts out telling us out J sent them out two by two ahead of Him in every town and place where He was about to go. He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lrd of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest fields." (v 2-3) I love that He shows us how He wants to send us out to do His work, whether it is in Nashville, TN or Cartagena, Colombia. He will send us out two by two where He is ABOUT TO GO! Why two by two? Why did the animals come into the ark two by two? Why did each M journey start with them going out two by two? Why does He says that two strands are stronger than 1 and that 3 are unbreakable?
He also gives us instructions on what to look for and what to do if we don't find that peace. But He doesn't say all of this until after He reminds us that He is sending us out like lambs amongst wolves. Sweet...thanks J!! That sounds like an amazing deal...right? Of course when we keep reading. He also tells us that He has given us authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; NOTHING WILL HARM YOU!! Okay, I will be a lamb amongst wolves, if this is the promise that comes with being a lamb!
Why did I leave last year with any kind of fear...fear of failing, not knowing the language, not knowing the culture, being far away from everything and everyone I have ever known? I think the answer is that I really wasn't claiming this promise of my Saviour when He sent me out! Why in the world would any of us stay complacent and comfortable amongst other lambs when He promises us lambs amongst wolves that HE has given us the authority over all the power of the enemy?
Then after that tells us not to rejoice that spirits submit to us but that our names are written in heaven!! How often to I spend time rejoicing over the fact my name is written in heaven?
And then He shows us how to rejoice by being full of the Holy Spirit, praising Our Father of heaven and earth for hiding things from the wise and learned and revealing all these things to us...His little children. If He reveals all these things to His little children and the kingdom of heaven is theirs, why do we spend so much time trying to be like the wise and learned (or at least trying to convince others that we are wise and learned?)
Okay...so these are just some of my thoughts from this chapter...I have so much more but you also have other things to do today besides to read my ramblings! Thank for reading, for pryng, and for loving me...this child of The King who is learning everyday what that entails and looks like!
