Welcome back to my blog, I hope you have read about what HE has been doing here in my "Stuff" section and accept my apologies for not wanting to write down everything that HE has been teaching me. Forgive me for my selfishness and pride and thank you for giving me another chance...I can't promise it won't be the last time I have to ask for forgiveness but I do promise I will commit to sharing what HE has been teaching me each week with you with hopes that HE will use it to glorify HIMSELF in your life!
So where do you start to begin to describe what The Alpha has been teaching you day in and day out in another country that is beginning to feel a little more familiar and not so foreign? I think today is a great place to start...
Where does HE have me right now? I am reading through Acts and looking at the power of the HS and WHO HE is and what HE desires to do and how I have neglected to tap into HIS power. When HE says in Acts 1:8, a passage all of us have memorized and try daily to live out, you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea, in Samaria, and to the end of the earth. We know where and to whom we are to witness. But witness to what? We are to bear witness to HIS life, death, burial, resurrection, and ascension...the gospel.
I know you are probably looking at your screen and saying...wow, Kendall...you are just now realizing this and you call yourself a M? Yes...I know, I am a little slow! But when was the last time you share the gospel message with someone? And then let me ask you what HE asked me, when was the last time I shared HIS gospel message using HIS Words ONLY and not my own? Where in the Book does it say pry this pryr and you will be saved? Where does it say we have to repeat such and such words in order to be radically changed by HIS Powerful Message? And while we are there, where is the radical change that I read about in HIS Book when people come to saving knowledge of THE CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE and allow HIM to completely be THE LORD of their life?
Do you think that we don't see lives radically changed by A Sovereign Dad because there is no power in our own words? I mean HIS WORD is clear when Paul says to Timothy that " ALL Scripture is breathed out by Dad and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness that the man of Dad my be competent, equipped for every good work." That pretty much covers every area right there...HIS Words...ALL of them that have been breathed out by THE ALMIGHTY are powerful and have the power to change lives. Nothing that I can say or do has that kind of power...so why do I go to people with anything less than HIS Words?
I will tell you why I constantly share HIS gospel message or testify to HIS life, death, burial, resurrection, and ascension with my own words and a couple of verses here and there...because I have not been obedient to memorize them. I have not taken HIM seriously when HE said the the sword of the Spirit is HIS Word and cuts like a double-edged sword and is the Bread of Life. I know more lyrics to U2 songs than I do The Words of Life!! And for this I am ashamed and repent of my disobedience. I mean there is nothing wrong with a quality U2 song but when was the last time you heard people were saved from their sin which leads to death by the lyrics of "With or Without You"?
So here I am...looking into what is HIS Gospel message that leads to salvation and do I really believe that HIS Words are sufficient. I don't need to play any game, give personal examples, nor any 3 points that I may come up with...people don't need that. They need HIS WORD...y ya! (that is what Colombians say when there is really nothing else to say...it is one of my favorite things to say.) They will understand more about WHO HE is through the power of HIS WORD. They will come to understand HIS MERCY and GRACE through the examples in HIS WORD. And HIS WORDS are full of 3 or more points that really can change lives.
Please pry for my diligence in study of HIS WORDS and the memorization of HIS WORDS. That I will truly believe that they are enough and sufficient for every thing. I guess my question now is...what about you? May HE use HIS WORD to challenge you and radically change your life. May HE use my feeble words to bless you or cause you to cry out to HIM on behalf!
